I assume you are running 4 speakers plus planning a sub? How many watts and what type of resistance do you need?
Unfortunately I think you are going to have a really if not impossible time finding a 5 channel amp to fit in that area.
Finally started doing some of my new build, opting to skip the subwoofers until I stop blowing my fun budget...
However, I got to thinking I might as well just order them, wire everything at once, and be done with that part of the build. Ok, so I will be ordering some of the 2" shallow mount, 13" power acoustik subs. However, with the box I am building, I realized I have no room for an additional amp for the subs.
I'm currently running 2 cheap small 500 watt amps for the factory speakers. I'm thinking I should ditch these and look at an amp that can run my factory speakers and the subwoofers. 4 channel right? Or, are these 5 channel? I'm accustomed to home theatre stuff more so I'm not sure the terminology, aplogies.
Anyways, I've been searching for a while for the smallest amps I can find. Found a mono one that fits my dimensions, but I'm not looking for mono here: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...-PBR300X1.html. Dimensions of my area are about 6.5" width, 3" height, 8" length. Also, not trying to spend alot, as I wasn't planning on this phase yet. Any help, pointers, recommendations would be appreciated.

Yes, 4 speakers and a sub. Here are the specs from the page (I don't know the difference in wiring for ohms):
13" Single 4 Ohm Shallow-Mount Subwoofer
Power Handling:
Peak: 700 watts
RMS: 350 watts
I spent a lot of time searching around today but can't find much at all, so I think you might be right that it could well be impossible. I guess Ill just have to keep use one of older mono spares in the meantime. It's not gonna look right at first sitting out, but I guess I'll get used to it. Too bad I won't have any pictures of it until I'm done, so we'll see.
I'll keep a lookout for an amp, or combination of amps, or something that might be do-able in that area.

Yeah smallest 5 channel I have used/seen is a Apline PDX-5. I actually have one running my midbass and subs. But even it is too big and seems people are asking crazy $ for it now.
Well there is this amp that can fit inside of your space with the mono amp you mentioned.
It is rated for 30watts RMS @ 4ohms x 4 channels. This would be a good addition to the other amp.
I see a downside to the other amp though. The sub is rated for 350 watts RMS with a 4ohm SVC. The amp can only handle only 75 watts at 4ohms. That isn't very much power for the sub. I'll have a look around and see if can't find anything for you. I'll let you know if I do.
