    has anyone done this?

    Brief story,
I have a 2008 acura tsx, with carpc of course and dual screen setup.
Visually i am happy, the dual screens keep me quite content :-), but in the audio department i am severely wanting.
not to go too in-depth, the factory radio outputs balanced audio, all my aftermarket stuff are unbalanced. = noise :-(
after hours and tweaking and buying different devices, i have gotten the noise level down to an acceptable "non existent level"
but it is still audible if no music is playing.

up to now i have been forced to use the factory radio to play my music. reason being i cannot remove it without my a/c going the
    way of the dodo.

i have decided to totally forgo the factory radio by adding a clarion FZ501 headunit, while leaving the factory HU in place, doing nothing...

The clarion does not have built in XM or a CD player , nor does it integrate with acura's handsfree bluetooth link. But today i got an idea! why not take the audio output of the factory radio which is a flat signal at 1v (before it reaches the factory amp) and send that to the line in of my carpc.
the carpc will then send all its audio out the "line-out" and into the clarion's AUX input.

i have attached a rough schematic of what i want to accomplish.

I don't see why this couldn't be done. I'm almost positive it will require a bit of thought and following PCB traces until you find where it goes into the factory amp. When that's found it will probably require just a bit of soldering and all should be good. If you are fine with soldering wires into your factory stereo then I would say go for it and see what happens.
