I recently purchased a 2001 Audi A6 Avant with symphony radio. I'm looking to add an aux input to the radio. The car is wired for a factory CD changer, so I would just put in a CD changer, but it has some odd plug on the trunk end of the cable that I don't recognize ( I can post pics if ya'll want ), and I would rather have an aux input. I have seen some cables that have a 3.5mm stereo plug on one end and a a pin connector to connect to the back of the radio on the other end, but I have read that this wont work because there is no signal to the radio that there is something plugged in. So my question is: How would one go about creating the signal the radio needs to activate the input?
I don't know if it's a symphony II you have but here's some info:
Failure is not an option...
The only full multizone / multiscreen cross platform open source Front End -> OpenMobile
I think my car has the symphony I radio, I will check when I have some free time. I am gonna try to pull the radio and see if this will work tonight.
I try that and it didn't work, becasue we lost part of the cluster information, this interface solve the problem it connects to the Audi external CD changer port
