Thread: For those who want true 5.1 Dolby Digital and DTS

Just to let people know that are using the ADD51T. I just picked up the SP13000 Via MB and the Audiobahn ADD51T. I had the same problem with the spdif coax out to the ADD51T. I read through the motherboard manual and found a spdif header on board. This had 3 pins 5V, Gnd, spdif. So I took the optical out connector from an old computer case, cut the connector off and crimped new pins on it. Plugged it in to the motherboard and now I have optical out from my motherboard. No adaptor needed. So before ordering an adaptor check to see if you have the optical header on your motherboard.

That's cool to know that my SP13000 has optical out also.

Hey, do you have a pic of your mod?

Now that i have the ibase mb896 Pentium M motherboard it is not concern for me since it has the optical not the coax connecter but i am still interested in seeing this mod

Well Red Its a really awesome board. With the onboard Toslink connecter, PCI Express, minipci and regular PCi makes it great for expansion. Plus the fact that it is Pentium M is Great. The board itself is freekin fast. Right now i have a 2.0 ghz Pentium M in there underclocked to 1.5 and its screemin fast. faster than the 3.0 P4 i had before.

I had some problems with the Memory DIMM and the MFG wanted 6 weeks to fix it (besides i broke it) so i replaced it myself and let me tell you. Desoldering 240 pins is not easy. Its pretty stable and solid right now. I have a few minor glitches but nothing serious. For the most part this board rocks and i would recomend it to anyone with 300 bucks to drop.

Ok, this is all new to me and I am trying to figure it all out. I have a VISTA C7 1.5GHz Mini-ITX Motherboard, and it is supposed to have a 6 channel output (5.1). I was hoping to use this and hook it to amps to power all my speakers. I was planning on deleting my head unit completely. So what else am I going to have to get before I can just send this out to amps. I was planning on using one of the 1/2 din speakers for my center channel. Also, I was planning on using Street Deck, what is the best way to get the radio tuner to work?
