    Best Amplifier

When i started my carputer, i told myself i wouldnt be buying a car stereo.

OK, i was wrong. I'm looking for someone to point me to a decent amplifier that would handle 5.1, something around 75w to 150w per channel.

Would it be better to have an all-in-one amp, or seperate amps?

How do they usally do this? Out the computer to the amp to the speakers?

    Any forsite would be appreciated.

    Check out the SoundStream D'Artigan.

Thats what I use. I am very happy with it. Someone else refferred it to me. I started thread in this forum a little while back asking for amp recomendations and thats what someone recommended.

It has 6 channels and is 800w RMS:
    65w x 5 @ 4ohms + 400w x 1 @ 2 ohms or
    100w x 5 @ 2ohms + 500w x 1 @ 1 ohms

I think the above is correct but do a search to make sure.

Also it has an option (if 400w isn't enough for your sub) to double it by bridging with an equel amp... so you have expandability.

Don't know any others becasue i havn't had experince wiuth others.

I hope other people chime in with their experience

    Cheers

Try the Rockford Fosgate amp. My 301x is like $125 on ebay and I couldn't be happier. The rear channel will provide plenty of bass when bridged. The front channels can power four speakers at 75w/speaker. It's also got a built in crossover which makes the sound awesome.

I have my eye on one of those amps now.

Who is a good manufacture of speakers? I'm looking for a pair of 6x9 and a pair of 5 inch ovals. I guess around 200-400w.

I'm see some on ebay, but they are only $25-35 a pair. Thats a little cheap isn't it?

If you're not going for a component set up, I'd go for Kenwood. If you want a component set up, go for Fosgate (look at their component speakers and compare it to others, you'll see why).
