stereo sound with 4 speakers question
Ok, I used the search feature and came up with nothing so...
I'm in the planning stages of a car setup that will be using a laptop, liliput touchscreen and an aftermarket amp... so there will be no head unit.
I would like to have stereo sound and I'm not too concerned about surround sound as I don't plan on watching DVDs in the car too often. But, what I do want is to be able to control the balance & fade of the sound because the back speakers are better than the front and also I think it just sounds better when the back speakers are more dominant.
So my question is, HOW? If I were to use the extigy and have surround sound I'm sure I would have some sort of control over balance/fade but the rear would be some sort of "simulated surround" when actually listening to stereo sound, am I right? But if I don't, all I have is one output on the laptop which I would hook up to the amp, which would power the speakers, but I would have no control over how much power goes where.
Am I missing something? Do they make such an amp that I could relocate balance/fade maybe even volume to the front of the car? Should I maybe get two amps, one for the front one for the back and rig up something between the two for fading purposes?
Please someone help me so my brain stops hurting!
