    By the way,

It was REALLY easy to install. All you do is get power from the head unit, connect the fm modulator to the antenna, and then just find a place to put the modulator. I will post pics of my how I did mine when I get a chance.

    Peace,

    Rafster

How exactly do you use it? Do you tune to a station? Does it sounds as good as an Auxiliary Input Converter?

Yes you tune it to a station, and all the ones I've heard don't sound as good as AUX input. My brother has a Pioneer headunit we mod'd for aux in for $10. Look around before you drop >100 on something.

If you get something like this: http://www.logjamelectronics.com/bli...alpdmxv1d.html

you can keep your cd-changer and add aux inputs.

But I can't say which ones are compatible with your setup.

Logjam carries just about every brand of input convertor I have found though.

Stevieg I think it would really help me if you did infact help me out in figuring out what head unit I have. When I called Land Rover, they put me on with the service department. The service department told me it was a custome made stereo from Hungary. I think they are not telling me because they want to do the install and charge me an arm a leg and a kidney.

If hes spending some money on it, wouldnt the best sound option be to get an amplifier? You dont need a heavy duty amp...

Im trying to keep the project at a reasonable price. I dont know much about car audio, if I buy an amp would I have to get rid of my current stereo? I wanted to keep it and be able to switch from carpc to stereo. BTW I don't know if my freelander 2004 is the revised one, but I just got it this month.

Maybe this will help? http://www.freelanderowners.com/foru...ead.php?t=3289 It seems that many other people are having this problem, so anyone who gets to the bottom of this, I will be sure to tell the other 2004freelander owners.
