try changing your sound card
I have a Pioneer DEH-P700R with AUX in. I simply want to go from the line out on the pc to the AUX in. I bought a RCA to line in Jack cable. When I plug both RCA's into the back of the stereo, the sound volume is so low, you literally have to be 3" from the speaker to hear it. Volume on pc or radio does not affect the volume output. Secondly, and most strange, if you take an RCA end and touch the chasis of the radio, ANYWHERE, the sound plays better! It gets louder and more clearer. But still not where it should be.
Now, things I have tried
*(Line out jack on pc) Works fine when plugging headphone into.
*(RCA to headphone jack adapter) Tested on home stereo system, works fine
*(Grounding the radio) I ran a ground wire from the chasis of the stereo to the car.
I do not have the manual for my radio, but AUX is AUX, right? There would not be any settings, correct?
Any help on this would be great, it's pretty frustrating!
try changing your sound card
I hooked the car pc up to a home stereo using the same RCA to line out adapter and the sound works great. I still think it has something to do with the h/u, but not sure what.Originally Posted by Jonboy385

Where would I ground it at? where would be a safe place? I tried grounding the case.Originally Posted by lgbr
Are you sure you're plugging it into an AUX input and not one of the preouts? The specs don't show it as having an aux input, but rather an IP-bus system control (not familiar with it but I'm assuming it's a pioneer-specific input for cd changers etc).
Well, there are 3 sets of RCA's 2 are labeled Front output and rear output. The third is unlabled. But the unit has an AUX setting source. You know how you switch from raido, cd, aux, M-cd? Maybe it is M-cd. I just figured itwas AUX since it has an AUX mode. maybe I am wrong!Originally Posted by Bobby Digital
pretty sure you need to buy the aux adapter thing made by pioneer. I think it's like $50 or something. Check you owners manual. I knew that is I wanted to add aux to my 7400mp i woulda needed it.
Thank you both! I no longer have my manual, it sure would have helped! I will look into buy the adapter.
Thanks
