I don't see any mention of that board on Shuttle's site: http://www.shuttle.com/hq/product/product_m_amd.aspOriginally Posted by SoFlaLude
What is the best solution for the BEST SOUND QUALITY from a PC!!!???
My audio setup in the car is:
4xmid-bass with a 2 channel Zapco
2xmid-ranges and 2xtweeters with a 4-channel Emphaser
2xcoanxial for rear with a 2 channel Emphaser
1x12" sub with a mono ZAPCO!!!
1 centre channel with an Emphaser!!
I am gettin Alpine's processor PXA-H900..
So the whole system will not be passive!!!
Every speaker with its own channel and crossovered through the processor!!!
The processor is full 5.1 etc and besides the analog inputs has 2 optical..
So, my motherboard has a 5.1 soundcard onboard with optical output!!
Would it be better using a USB or PCI audigy X2 or stick with the onboard one?
I am asking because all the processing and decode will be done by PXA-H900....
I was looking at the Audigy 2 NX, and it does 5.1 output through 3 line-outs, by sending front left/right through one, rear left/right through another, and center/sub through the 3rd line-out. If I wanted to send the sub channel to my sub amp how would I get rid of the center? If I used a y-adapter to convert the 1/8" line-out jack to dual RCA's can I just plug one of the RCA's into my sub amp?
I just posted this item on another thread, but it seems appropriate to mention it here too. If your going for quality sound, you really should be running your connections out of the computer through this device first, then to your amps. Take a look around on the audiocontrol site, they have some other great in-dash devices.
What about my post??
I think with the Apline's processor would be OK!!!
My question is, if I use optical output does it matter if it is onboard, PCI or USB???
Will I have ANY noise??
