Is USB alright with you? No RCA, but still a cool and simple device.

I am looking for a simple 2-channel volume control device. Ideally it would have rca inputs. Right now I am using a couple of RCA-headphone converters and controlling volume with a headphone volume control.
I really would like something more elegant than that.
Cheers!

well, i do know that if you are running a sound blaster live you can actually make a two button volume up, down, mute control for your machine. It was a hardware hack i saw on a mod site somewhere. Shouldnt be too hard to find. I believe that it also still works with audigy cards as well. It is just two buttons, one for up, one for down, both for mute.
a description is at this site: http://pc-mod.com/articles/live/
I already can control the PC volume. What I would like is an in-line volume control to separately control the front and rear speakers.
It could be as simple as two RCA channels with a knob. I just can't find it.
Cheers!
If you really can't find one, make one:
