I'm going to try the relay first. Where does the remote wire go from the relay? Do I need to tap in into existing remote wire going to the amp from ACC? I must be doing something wrong, everything comes on that way but the two pops are still there. Am I way off on this one? Or, do I go from ACC to the relay and then to the amp (haven't tried this one yet) Here is my setup

the acc line does not go to the amp anymore, you will use the 12V from the relay to trigger the amp.

OK, so the ACC that used to go to the amp now goes to the relay. Thanks

You wouldn't need the ACC line going to the relay would you? Can't you just run +12V from the power supply right to the amp's ACC lead? Or does the time it takes the relay to switch make a difference?

you could, but the relay isolates the two electronically which is a good thing if either one of them decided to crap out.

Whoa Gene i think you got confused somewhere. You are not powering the amp with the opus, just the relay. The amp's power comes from the car, and the opus triggers the relay.

Oh no, that diagram is from the back of the box in which the relay came in. So, the power to the amp comes from the battery and does not go through the relay. and the acc is my 12in-12out. I understand ground. that leaves on/off open.

the wording of your relay pinout is confusing, try this one:

the opus 12v should go to a coil pin, and the other coil pin should go to a 12 volt lamp(to limit current)

You ACC line then goes to the common pin

and your Amp remote line goes to N/0 or 87
