LED may not be running on 12V though (required for the amp "remote" line)... check that first.

This seems like quite a round-about fix (a little "ghetto" as the kids may say). Not that I can think of anything better, but still...

    Barometer,
I tried the plug and play bios thing and it doesn't work...i found out it pops when the sound blaster mp3+ is started up by windows...
But, the BIOS change is supposed to make the USB devices get initialized by BIOS and not wait for Windows. So you've changed your BIOS settings to "Non-plug&play OS"? This is very strange. This should work.

there is an led on the top of it...thats how I know its on..hooking it up to my amp would be another matter I suppose
When does the LED come on....when your mobo gets power, or when Windows initializes the mp3+?

you wouldnt run it directly to the amp, you would want to run a relay, in fact it would probably be even better to use a transistor to run the relay.

My computer monitor makes a type of pop when windows goes to the desktop for the first time. It's like a type of high pitch noise. I guess interference that is being picked up by the sound card is coming from the screen intialising + the amp amplifying it. Do you have noise filter in your audio chain? If not that could very well solve the problem.

The DLYON signal is meant to deal with the speaker pop that is caused by applying power to your CarPC/sound card at the same time as your audio amp/head unit is powered. There is a 3 second delay on the DLYON line which will not overcome the problem Barometer is running in to. His speaker pop appears to be caused by a software initialization of his sound card. I'm not sure what a good solution would be for this.

Barometer.....can you get sound out of the sound card BEFORE you hear the pop? 30+ seconds seems like a VERY long initialzation time.
    hey whats up mike,
any fix for this yet. Im having the same problem, just got a USB live+ sound card, the "pop" happens right before windows logs on
Mike is there a way we can set the Dylon to get delayed for more then 3 seconds

Yes, you can re-program the PIC using the U-Flash method described on our website. I will post the memory location to allow you to change the DLYON time.

It's really not that difficult...in fact it's fun. Once you've mastered the art of firmware upgrades you'll be tweaking every parameter you can get your hands on! If you mess it up I'll hold your hand thru the recovery process.

Right now it's set to 3 seconds. You can reprogram it for up to 255 seconds.

    ...go ahead...it won't hurt...

Just installed my carpc, and I'm also running into this problem (speaker pop during windows boot). I am also using a via epia 10000m (on-board audio), a carnetix P1260, and windows xp. Did this problem ever get resolved?

    Thanks!
