    Ralf,

The problem above is different from your setup. He was using an external USB soundcard and the pop occurs when Windows initializes his sound card.

If you are using the onbord sound from the M10k, you should not have this problem. Does your audio amp respond to the remote enable trigger (ie are you able disable your audio amp with this line)? When does the pop happen (ie how long after the P1260 comes on)? Is it more than 3 seconds after the P1260 turns on?

i'm having the same thing. And it's killing me.
Just before windows starts, there is a big pop. (i have 2 15"s)
I'm using the creative x-fi card. (both amps i got have soft turn on so its not the amps). It is when windows initializes the sound card.

    Any solutions??

Why is it that home computers with sound cards and external speakers with amps built in don't make this POP even if the speakers volume control is set high and the computers volume is set high too?

And here we are in June of 2007 and after searching for this problem I found this thread.

So I am digging this out of the grave and sending it on a search for Brains!!!!!!!!

Anyone solve this? I have my m2-atx turning the amp on after the computer comes on and it thus avoids the power on thump but when my chaintech 710 pci sound card is initialized by windows I get the pop. Trying to come up with some solutions.
Maybe some sort of usb powered relay that can be programmed to send 12+ to the amp when a command line is entered and pop the app in the startup folder.

    Any ideas out there?

if u can use sleep, the pc will come on so fast that the delay will be perfect. u have to have a smart power supply tho, to protect from running the battery totally dead. if you use your car every day then having sleep enabled is def possible. a low power epia set up helps too.

i have the m2-atx and sp13000, onboard audio pops badly when windows initialises the onboard sound. I'm getting a much better soundcard soon, that may help.

I was hoping to find the solution here, because I am working on the same problem. I was thinking about finding a signal from the PC that only comes up once Windows is initialized (ideally it would also go away before the computer shuts down, but this might be asking for too much). So the things to look at are USB power, serial ports, parallel port, maybe something else. I am proposing to find a signal somewhere and build an interface to drive a relay from it. Worst case would be that the interface also needs a delay.

When does the light on a USB mouse come on?
How about a utility (or even existing software) that turns on a serial port? It would get loaded when WIN loads and turned off (first?) when shutting down. \

I will keep searching, though because I'm sure somebody has figured this out.

Fusion Brain should be able to perform what a few of you asked for, however it might be overkill.

    Having the same problem.
Using M2-ATX and SP13000 onboard audio.
Have anyone find a solution for this?
One emergency answear for this might be a own switch for the amplifiers. Not so cool, but it works, i guess.

I got mine wired up to switches, i used 2 switches (one for front amp one for rear)
and it has proved useful my fronts are mainly treble my rears are mainly bass, i found that just flicking the switch for rear off it means i dont risk waking any one up at home(i live in the middle of no where and sound travels well out here)
