Been looking around and thinking of getting the PG Ti 12's. What amp would you recommend for these subs? Something around $200. The subs are rated 500 watts rms each and are dual 4 ohms.

Also is it ok to use a lower watt amp to power the subs, like something around 800 instead of 1000?

I realize that I am probably too alte on ths thread.. but if you have an Ultimate Electronics store in your city i HIGHLY recomend checking them out... as of late they ahve been running 2 10" RFosgates for like $80 or so. or 2 12" RFosgates for $100 or something around that. I highly recomend checking htem out. Good Woofers for clean tight base. They also have a plethora of amps you can mitch and match to see waht sort of sound you like best.

I'm not looking at the Rockford subs any more. The subs I listed have better SQ than the Rockford according to my research. Plus I can get the Infinity Kappa Perfect for $105 + shipping with coupon code from sounddomain.com, I got them to price match another vendor. If you guys want I could send you the link for the vendor so you could get the coupon code as well.

Also any recommedation for the subs from my other post, the PG Ti12.

If you're considering Phoenix Gold Subs, might as well put a Phoenix Gold Amp to them. You get a lot for your money with their amplifiers. I've always been fond of their amplifiers and wouldn't hesitate to use one in my own system (although I'd prefer an older Orion HCCA amp). Here's a 500Wx1 @ 2 Ohm Phoenix Gold amp for $189: http://www.cbrstereo.com/index.asp?P...ROD&ProdID=484
Looks like it might be worth the investment.

With the amp you suggested will I be able to run both the subs off of it, because each sub is rated at 500 watts rms. I would be only giving the subs half the power they need, this shouldn't harm the sub, correct? If I keep the volume down the subs should remain happy.

Of these two sub, PG Ti12 and IG IDQ12, which would be better for listening to mainly rap/hip-hop and r&B. I going to make my decision between the two of these and want to know which would be a better choice for the music I listen to. I can get either of the subs for the same price so I would like to purchase them soon.

if you want rap and hip hop go with some audiobahns. They are not expensive and they hit hard. You are being a bit too picky (no offense). The differenece between most subs in minimal unless you are an audio freak which you probably arent then it doesnt matter. Get 2 10" audiobahnsubs 80-150 and get the A8002t audiobahn amp. it has 800 rms which is more then enough also make sure you look at the ohms you cant jsut hook up any old subs to any amp. Also the wattage to the subs change with different ohms. And like i said before you are forgetting too many crucial things like a capacitor and an amp kit. without the amp kit you wont be able to use your subs or amp and without a capacitor there will be a strain on your battery and it wont hit as hard. You should do a little more research online before you commit. Your looking at 450-500 worth of stuff when you get everything not to mention professional installation if you cant do it yourself.

    i would recommend
    audioban amp $180 shipped

    2 10" audiobahn subs $150

    stinger amp kit $53

    stinger rca cable $27

    kole audio capacitor $70

    total = 480 shipped.

Yes, wire the 2 subs in parallel to present the amplifier with a 2 ohm load on the single channel. The subs are rated at 500W RMS which means that they can handle up to 500W of power continuously, it's not the minimum power rating of the speaker. I would say that since you're planning on powering the satellites with the head unit, 500W of power to the subs might actually be too much, however this is why god created the gain control on amplifiers. It'll give you plenty of reserve power in the event you want to add a 4 channel amp for the satellites. It's been said before but it's true, sound quality of the subs is all going to boil down to the enclosure. You might have to do some math to figure out what you need in the way of an enclosure. I may still have the formulas here if you need them.

From someone with the experience of being around a few systems, I would highly recommend the Alpine Type R's with Audiobahns. I currently have 4 - 12" Alpine Type R's, 4 - Audiobahn amps and 4 - 2 Farad Amps. As depending on how much bass the average person would really want would be probably not even one of these subs max out. But for me its not enough and my wife calls me crazy. I am in the process of purchasing 2 red top Optium batteries, a larger capacity alternator, 4 more audiobahn amps and alot more wire.

So pretty much just to say, what you get probably will probably not be your last setup.

Heh, wow. Coming from an audiophile, you're nuts.

The RF woofers I have are $50/piece and I must say are INCREDIBLE for the price. I drive through my friend's block at 35-45 mph several times a week, and I've received several complaints, so they hit hard. I think the bass sounds awesome. With subs like these, there's no reason not to get them, and invest $100 in something that would make a larger difference.
