Subs for carputer!

has anyone else heard the PG Ti12 playing rap and r&b music. If you have what did you think of the subs, were they suited well for the music?

if your looking for cheap subs, ebay is your answer. I purchased a AW1500Q thats a 15" audiobahn 800 watts RMS, sub for 77$ brand new in orignal packaging with warranty, from a licensed bahn dealer. It retails at 225$ (originaly at 300$).

my apologies if this has already been answered, but is yoru budget $350 for EVERYTHING? or just liek the subwoofer and amplifier, no box, no wires, etc....

Alpine Type R 12" $99, Alpine MRD-M301 Amp $189, Audio Pipe PK-700 Amp Kit $12 all from www.ikesound.com. Then pick up an enclosure locally - sealed or slot ported ($50-100). You don't want to pay shipping on that.

you can do better for an amp than that on ebay. get the dual 2 ohm woofer version, and you can find plenty of 300 watt 4 ohm stable amps in the $100 plus shipping range there

like an earthquake 2.3 for sometimes less than $100 shipped, new in box

I have 1 10" MTX in a really small truck box and supprisingly it hits really hard. IT is more than enough for me and whoever is in the car. If i want others to envy my stereo and possibly steal then i would go for 1 15" in a fibreglass box. Maybe down the road a little bit but for now 1 10" is all i need

Thanks for all the comments guys. I've decided to go with the Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1D. Now I'm just looking for a mono amp to with it and another 4 channel amp for the rest of the speackers in the car.

I just got done with the complete opposite installation in my friends Bronco. 2 Kicker Solo-X 18's in a wall with 2 Mmats 2200 watt amps along with 4 extra Ultima Yellow top batteries. With the volume set to 17 out of 35, you can't hear yourself scream, or see the road right infront of you. GOTTA LOVE IT!

I reccommend the nondual voice coil version. itll make finding an amp in your price range WAY easier.

the 12.1D, if I am not mistaken, is a 4 ohm DVC woofer. so youd be running at 2 or 8 ohms. there is no such thing as an 8 ohm mono stable only amp (within reason), and 2 ohm mono stable amplifeirs are much more expensive in the entry level market than 4 ohm stable mono only amplifiers.

If you have not purchased the subwoofer yet, I highly highly highly highly reccomend the single voice coil model, not the dual. they sound the same!
