Ok, so I finally got the sound system installed and it works perfectly when I connect it to a cd player. Now if I hook up the Inverter and connect the computer it works fine, without the system connected to the computer. If I hook up the sound to the computer (Epia M10000) I get noise. I have tried ground loop isolators but that made no difference. I tried other things, I did multiple's and I found out that if I grounded the case on the computer it might eliminate the noise. The problem is that I don't have a case on the computer. Does anyone have any suggestions?
The Epia M10000 has a reputation for having USB data noise filter through on the audio output, there have been a couple of discussions on here about it, and most just say get an external USB sound card. There have been threads about the version of the sound drivers being a problem. Sorry I don't have more details than that. I havn't had the problem with my setup, but then again I don't turn the volume up that high and I have rubbish speakers.

I tried everything I could think/find on the web and finally I installed an inline noise filter on the positive and negative lines to the pc and no more alternator whine. Is that the noise your getting? I tried multiple grounds, single ground to negative battery terminal and single ground to the chassis. All produced the same whine. I bought two of them on eBay, (and ended up paying about half price)thinking I would need one on the amp and one on the pc. I installed one this weekend and all the whine is gone. I'm still having extra noise on the line in for the XMPCR, but I can live with that.

Ya I was pretty annoyed that day, and I realized that no matter what settings/combinations of drivers I could not get the 6 channel output to work on the onboard sound on the M10000 so I just bought an Audigy NX USB sound card. It works like a charm and the noise is gone. I didn't try that one item from the Radioshack link though, the Radioshack people were clueless on what I was talking about. I've just been lazy to actually place everything in the car, other than that the thing is ready to go, the monitor has been "molded" and nearly finished.

The Audigy 2 NX sound skipping is annoying the hell out of me (Do the latest drivers on the Soundblaster.com site fix this?). Is there any way to get the 6 channel output on the Epia to work with Frodoplayer? I followed the manual on the Epia but it didn't output anything on anything except for the middle audio input.
there is also a jumper on the motherboard for the 6-ch audio. check that
