Let us write to XM Radio regarding XMPCR

Just like the rest of you, I am highly disappointed in what have happened to XMPCR.

I think if we all write to them, we might be able to convince them that there is real market out there.

Remember, you have to be extremely polite, brief and to the point. If you are going to write, then stay away from shouting and threatening, it would take us no where fast.

I don't have the greatest writing skills, if any one here knows how to compose a sweet and short letter that we all copy and send, that would be great.

I already sent a letter to the CEO. Here is where you should go to pick your recipient of choice: http://www.xmradio.com/corporate_inf...ement_main.jsp

Now, here is how to compose the email address: [email protected]

Please, be very nice dealing with this people, we need them on our side.

    Thanks

You do understand that the reason for it being removed from the market has nothing to do with it not being popular or there being no market for it.

Its being removed because of the RIAA leaning on them and the possible DMCA lawsuits to come out of it.

I do understand that perfectly, I just want to be discrete about it and not to bring it up in any writing cause they would not admit it!

I won't be writing. If they really pulled the XMPCR due to the RIAA, well then my subscription is cancelled. It's not like the service is so incredibly good, and I usually just listen to my MP3's in the car, and to shoutcast at home. I won't miss it.

That said, I *will* be giving my business to www.allofmp3.com. They provide me the music I want in the format I want, without encumbering DRM. Their site works on Mozilla. I hesitate to mention how cheap they are, because I would have been willing to pay more for the same service from a US site, but the labels were just plain too greedy to make it happen.

By the way, I work for the second largest music company in the world.

I don't know It is just frustrating. Now RIAA don't even have to spend money, it is enough if they knock your door.

Jpelzer: Sounds like you have the unit, what do you think, is the sound quality bad as was mentioned somewhere else, I mean, you would not pay $200/$300 for it?

We spoke to someone high up weeks ago about our software and there tos as to not get into any legal problems with them our selfs and they told us they were discontinuing the pcr this year do to there not being a large market for it. Timetrax just pushed them to do it sooner. why not get a pole going here as to how many of us would like them to continue to sell the pcr. you'll have my vote!
