    Question Positive ground amp??!!?? (help?)

    Dear guru's,

does somebody know how to connect a positive ground amp (the factory volvo amp in my S60) to a negative ground audio-source (my carpc)?

Will a ground-loop isolator help? If it would, is the soundquality affected by the isolator (please, only tell me if you heard the difference in real life with your own ears, not if you read it somewhere...).

    Thanks!

    Joachim

I heard the difference. It's not that you lose quality while using thr ground loop isolator, more like some of the frequencies get weaker. For example, you will hear less tremble and your bass won't be as "jumpy" if you know what I mean. But I would not call it a loss of quality, you just have to tweak the equalizer settings on your PC.

Thanks Yuriy. So there is a noticable difference...

Since I still didn't get any confirmation that my problem will be fixed with one, I guess I'll put in another 4ch amp and use the volvo amp in my mobilhome, together with the volvo head-unit

A ground loop isolator is nothing more than an audio transformer with a 1:1 ratio!
The transformer isolates the two sources electrically so there is no ground loop.

It all depends on the characteristics of the transformer and the build quality of the unit.

Thanks, but I already replaced the amp by a blaupunkt 4x50w.

I will use the amp in my camper, together with the original Volvo HU.
