mp3 compatible (backup), rear aux in, 5v pre out, and crossovers. Nice feature if I'M going to upgrade.

Also ARE the speakers THAT come with the HU any good? Since I'M not adding a amp/sub any time soon, I need some speakers with decent bass.

This unit is OK. You only get one set of speakers with it. Do you only have two speakers in the car? If so you're not going to get "decent" bass. That's all subjective though. I would choose a seperate amp over a head unit any day. If that's all your budget allows then it will have to do, right? So give it a shot.

Panasonic are not all that bad. For the money its pretty nice. I guarantee you that you will not get decent bass out of those free speakers.

also, what are your recommendation on the speakers? I need them to put out some good bass. my budget is around $100 for a set also they will be powered by my HU.

If your budget is $100 I would suggest going to a second hand, or swap shop. See if you can get a set of working (not damaged) speakers. I would also suggest on holding off on "decent bass" (that's also very subjective) right now. You can always add a subwoofer but if your highs and mids suck what's the use? Most people install their subs in the trunk. So that's a easy-to-get-to upgrade. It's usually not so easy to get to your door or dash speakers.
