Around 750 albums, and i don't listen to more than 50 or so of them, i just like to have all my music with me, just in case, and i also hook it up at parties and stuff where its good to have a big selection.

Honestly, I can't think of 500+ Cds out there that are worth the space on my HD.

Well, the complete Metallica/Chillis/PearlJam/Nirvana back catalogues (and yes, I own what I rip) plus loads of other back catalogues that I've bought up as I could. If it wasn't available on CD initially, I would buy the Vinyl, and then download the MP3. That way I legally owned a copy that matched the MP3 I had. I've been buying music for about 20 years, so I've had, and sold a fair bit in that time.

The most I've ever had was about 4500 (mostly random) MP3s. I had back up discs but lost them when I moved . I have been slowly borrowing CDs from friends to build my collection back up.
