check out doom9.org for all dvd ripping guides/downloads/etc.

I'm assuming you're talking about ripping and compressing to divx.

Let the RIAA come and get me. Every time I buy a pack od blank CD's I pay for MP3's. For instance, I bought a 50 pack of blank CD's, for $29 CDN. Paid for them, and was suprised to see the REAL Price was 39.00 CDN as there is a hidden fee of $10.00 put there by the Canadian Copyright board to offset the music industry's loss of profits. Therefor, as far as I'm concerned, that $10 levy gives me the right to download and burn 50 blank CD's worth of MP3's. If I dont get to do that, why am I paying for something I cant use. Is it not a crime to charge someone for something they can not use?

Yep, and in the UK, you can buy budget cheap CDrs for data copying (which I believe have a small surcharge because they are capable of recording music), or Music only CDRs which are 3rd dearer, better quality discs, but include a PRS (performing rights society who handle UK artists royalties) levy to contribute toward lost revenues that the artist (not the record company) would have made. And I'm quite happy to pay the artist for what he has made, not the fat suits who moan because last years Lear jet is so Passe, and downloaders are killing off his chances of replacing it.

They are just biting back for the crimes everyone else has committed against them in the first place. Whether you think it or not, them charging you loads of money for their CDs is not a crime. Downloading their music on the other hand IS a crime. If you don't want to pay for their music then don't buy it. I love hearing how everyone rationalizes for their downloading of music.
Not a personal attack against you sapper.
