I just blew mine up but found a reference in the tech documentation for repairs that if the unit is inoperable, they should check fuse; wiring; loose connection.
Is there a fuse I can try replacing having blown mine? I didn't see one. Could it be a fuse within the car electrics instead?
How do you know you blew the fuse if you can't find the fuse?
If there's not a fuse on the back of the HU (which is where it is on my Clarion, I think), it could be your car's fuse (in the fuse panel labelled 'radio').
If that's not the case, get a multimeter or test light and check the power wires. You may have a bad connection somewhere.

I found a tech doc listing the wiring of the power plug so I can probably easily check to see if the main power (a separate pin from the illumination) is absent.
What did the fuse look like on your Clarion? I didn't see anything fuse-like on the back of mine. Did it look like your standard fuse in a clip?
I THINK it was a blade type. It's been a while since I saw the back of it though. I know my Kenwood had a blade fuse in the back... so my memories of the units might just be bleeding together.
I'll try to remember to flip through my manual and see if it says anything.

Checked my manual...
Under 'trouble-shooting', 'no power', it says 'replace fuse'... but nowhere in the manual does it tell you where that fuse is.

It wasn't just the main fuse. Connected the antenna back up and was getting just noise and the volume control had no effect. Then after being on about 30 seconds, it blew the fuse again. Guess I did fry something, but I can't see what.
