    Arrow my fm modulator

I just installed my carputer, but the fm modulator isnt working. Its a no-name brand kind that has a pass-through for the car antenna. I have it connected to the power going into my head unit. When I flip the switch on to turn the fm modulator it makes a loud pop sound, but only the first time I turn it on while the car is on. When I turn it off, then on again, it doesnt make the pop sound. It doesn't filter out 88.7, which is the station I have it set on. All I hear is fuzz on 88.7 and all the other stations still work. Is there anything I'm doing wrong?

Have you tried getting your +12V power from a different wire? It sounds like it's not getting power if it's not filtering out the other radio stations. Most FM modulators when powered on will not allow you to get any outside stations, it basically disconnects your head unit from the antenna on your car.

Or it could be defective. Also, did you check your fuse on the +12V?
