do you absolutely HAVE to have speakers in the rear?

honnestly, coax speakers are crap, especially when compared to the Focals.

You should be fine running the focal seperates only on that amp, one channel per speaker. I haven't had rear speakers in my car in 4 years, and I will never go back to speakers in the rear. It's just not as pure as I like

Are you going for pure volume? or more for sound quality? it sounds to me like you are going for quality with what you have so far. True sound quality systems don't have rear speakers.

Now if you are looking for 5.1 sound then you will want rears AND a center channel.

There is a reason the HIGH ends of the HIGH end speaker companies don't include coax speakers....

but if you MUST you can look into the Polyglass (165CV) from Focal....they will take 70 watts rms

but, as well, just because your amp may put out 100watts rms per channel doesn't mean you need a speaker that can handle 100 watts, that's a common misconception

if you insist on using a rear speaker (if you are all they will be for is rear fill) I do recomend using the same brand as you will have the same voice matching ect....if at all possible use the same line in the same brand...

    just my $.02 worth

well everything is gonna be controlled by an avic-n1 or ddx-7015 (havnt decided) so there will be dvd playback, although i dont think im gonna go 5.1. i would like a bit of rear fill, and im completely removing the stock 6x9s in the rear (2 xtant x series 10s will be providing the lows). i think i will go with the 165cv to replace the rear 6.5s.

Try it with the stocks first, then disconnect them and try it again. See which you prefer, and then think about what new toys you want

I would reccomend doing more than disconnect them. remove them! if its the difference between not having them or upgrading them, they will be gone anyways! and youll open up those large holes in the back to let all that nice bass you are gonna have in the trunk into the cabin.

it seems to me you have both 6.5 and 6x9's in the back? I reccommend, if you insist on having rear fill, on a pair of tangbands. they can handle the power, and only play up to 800 Hz, giving you plenty of fill, even partial female vocals, but wont fully ruin your staging. (fully.....) furthermore, they have an insane low frequency extension, allowing you the maximum level of adjustability for the bottom end of your small speakers and the top end of yoru sub-bass.

and they are cheap, at $40 a pop.
