    Audigy NX manual/description sought

I'm looking into an AUDIGY NX for my carputer... mostlikely down the line (for now i will use a cheap SB USB MP3)

i would want it to have a separate sub out so i can feed a sub amp then a regular patch out to feed stock amp

if anyone has a pdf or pictures up close thanks in advance

have you tried their web page?

    http://www.creative.com/products/pro...4&product=9103

one thing that I found with this sound card was that I think you will have to physically turn it on every time you turn the car on...since once power is cut from it you will need to turn it back on.....via the button that's on it

oh, and there are rearview shots of it on the page:

Huh, I don't have to touch mine. It comes on automatically when powered.

I second that.. it automatically turns on when power is supplied to it.

And there is installed pictures of it in my signature if your looking for pic info like that

I also didn't think they price between the usb sb mp3 and the audigy NX were
that great? I haven't looked at pricing in awhile, but they always have the NX on sale
    somewhere with some rebate....

I think the NX is usually $80-$100 (used to be more last year when i bought it). I've seen the SBMP3 for under $30.

oh wow.. never saw the sbmp3 for that cheap... thought it was more towards the $50 range...
And around the holidays I saw the Audigy NX from like 60 to 80 with rebates...

I just see a CarPC as a costly project... and saving $50ish on the main part (SOUND)
just doesn't make sense to me

Agreed ... though there are a few advantages of the MP3 over the Audigy and depending on your setup you may not notice the difference in audio quality between the two.

I notice you installed your audigy in the back, I assume you're not using the remote as I thought it was infrared not RF...

No remote necessary... System is entirely controlled thru touchscreen. I was thinking
of extending the volume knob... as my friend did... but then I realized its more OEM looking
to just use the touchscreen as the interface and not have any "weird" looking knobs or switches...

What real use would a remote be anyways? I'm sitting RIGHT there! lol

Truth be told, the remote/IR sensor in the Audigy are nearly useless. The work with Creative's own software and to some extent with WMP but as far as I can tell they don't provide a SDK nor even a published software interface. You can't use the IR sensor with Girder ... though you could use the remote with another IR board.
