Although different radio but basically you can do the same thing

Hi all,
intro
I've done a search here and google, but I think my question is to specific.
history
On one of my old car stereo's I was able to cut the rca cables from cd to amp internally, and so creating an AUX in.
current
I currently have a Pioneer 2460R (No IP-bus version...), with my mp3-player connected through an FM-modulator. This is'nt the worst quallity, but you can definitly hear noise.
question
Now I was wondering if the internal hack, to replace the function of the CD player in the head unit with an AUX, woudl work on this newer model.
thanks/excuses
It is currently wired quite solid into my car, so I would like to get some more information, before ripping it out again.
Thanks for any help!
ps. I'm Dutch, so sorry if some tech-terms are incorrect...
