i doubt the external amp has anything to do with this, keep in mind that your headunits power output is weak as ****, like 17w RMS, what brand is it?

the external amp was connected to the subs....it shouldn't have had anything to do with this...

you still haven't answered my question though....what brand and model is your head unit?

did you install it yourself? or did a shop install it? how long ago?

If you can answer these questions we might be able to help point you in a direction to help solve the problem....

have you checked all of your connections?

pull the deck out and check your connections......or have you done that?

from what you are saying it sounds like you are relatively new to the car stereo game, which is fine. I'm just guessing that there is a problem with the install here....did you buy the deck new or used?

if you had had it installed somewhere you could have just taken it back to them and tell them to fix it...lol

generally if you haven't had it installed at or by a professional.....they won't take it...but there are ways around it....that is if he bought it new.....
