im quite impressed with my mutant sp280....... 2 channel 80watt per channel..... drives my 6*9s nicely....
sets ya back about £50 in the UK
I just need an amp to power my speakers as my radio has died and I need music >_<
I just need some thing that will push a pair of 6x9's and it needs to be as small and cheap as posable because I'm going to try and have my factory radio fixed and if that isn't an option I will cut the dash and mount a normal 1 din radio.
If your wondering why I don't just get a new radio that would fit were the current one is it is because I can not find a radio that has the tuning nobs any more![]()

Thats not to bad I'll check into it. If any one knows of any place to get the old style radio's for not alot let me know.
so i'm guessing that you have a classic car since you need the knobs?
have you looked into the classic car restoration companies? they usually offer period radios...
I'd suggest doing a search, or letting us know what car you have so we might be able to help....
otherwise....if you don't care about quality, just go get the amp that's on special at the local walmart, best buy, circuit city, or the like (depends on where you are located)

BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK IS A
ROCKFORD FOSGATE PUNCH 45.2, those bad boiys kick ***.
I had two and for awhile each ran 1 subwoofer.
Then I blew one (2 four ohm subs bridged dont work on a 4ohm stable amp) and used it to power my 6x9s.
Older RF amps are cheap and its a solid amp, age is fine with them so dont think getting something made 8 years ago is bad.
And dont let the OLD RF #'s fool you, the 45.2 means 45 x 2 channels, but the amp actually puts out 180watts to 1 channel.

You know
now that iebay
a Punch 45 is something of a collectors item. I paid $90 each BRAND NEW for the silver edition (not the boxy black ones, those were before the Parrallelogram they went with for the next generation) and the old ones go for $80+
Maybe its not such a cheap amp

lol - if you were to let something like
fool you, you need to learn a little about how these amplifiers work....the 45.2 means 45 x 2 channels, but the amp actually puts out 180watts to 1 channel.

Well there are some companys that sell radio's for car but they run any ware from 160-290 USD which is just stupid. The highest end is a kenwood :/ If it comes down to over paying for some thing old or paying less and geting some thing decent I'll cut the hole in the dash out a bit to fit a new radio. I also checked around wall mart and cheapest there is like 49.99. Thats a bit higher than I wanted to pay. Also checked the pawn shop and the cheapest there was 80. I'm looking for some thing like 20-25 USD. I know I'm probably not gona find much if any thing at that price.
