Wow, I am sure that makes a lot of sense to someone else, but i am kinda lost, is there any guides out there?
Or anyway to tell this to a dummy?
sorry, and thanks for the help.
Hi again guys, just got a lil question for ya.
Ok well i have a sony cdx-f5500 headunit and it has an audio input for the cd changer that you hook up, that i do have hooked up. Ya, anyways, if you don't have the sony cable hooked up to the cd changer, the headunit can't play audio from the audio input cables, simple.
Anyways i pluged in a cd player to the rca-in cables and left the signal cable in the cd-changer. It played and on the headunit it just showed what track the cd was on, in the cd changer.
Sorry if all this is hard to understand, i can clear it up for you all if need be.
My question is, is there a switch/cable/box that you can use to change between audio sources?
Here is a rough sketch of what it should look like, i know its crap:

it should give preference to line a and when line b turns on it should switch over. and then switch back to line a when line b turns off.
