however (I'm post whoring here), rereading your very first post, I should ask if there is a reason you choose not to expand your door to fit a shallow 8?

you might even find sufficient depth in the rear door to fit a standard 8" subwoofer. This will expand your options to a MUCH greater list, as well as give you greater choice for a greater Low Frequency Extension.

another thing I thought of off the top of my head, is why run 6x9's? heck, why run rear midrange at all? and that translates to this: if you make a baffle to install some 6x9's, it would be pretty easy to simply not install those 6x9's and instead put in some 8's, or a couple 10's, or a slew of those 6.5 inch subwoofers.....

CL the RE XXX 6.5 comes as a component set. IF they will let you special order just a pair of the mid bass drivers then yeah thats a good way to go.

I am sure they would let someone order just the xxx mid, as they just did had a group buy at soundillusions for $180 shipped for just the 6.5" xxx mids. But will they ship to the UK? Thats what I dont know.

Dave sorry if i hit a sore spot granted the 6w0 is a good sub (I use 4 of them for midbass) I was just aiming him away from them mostly because of them being discontinued granted if you have them set up right (enclosure the right size, good clean power, and playing in the right freq range) they will sound great. Yes sloppy does come from the install thats with any system. i guess i used the word out of context, i was assuming that it was being used as a midbass woofer and not being used as a sub it is kinda tricky to use this sub as a midbass but hey a sub is a sub it is just as easily to make it sound good as it is to make it sound bad sorry for any hurt feelings on the 6w0 it is a good sub

Hey WhiteRabbit > Do you really think the JL will play lower than the Adire? They are saying the Adire Koda will go as low as 60 0r 70 hz. It also has an xmax longer than many 8 or 10 in subs out there. Just wondering cuz im not a JL fan so ive never used them

The adire 6.5" kodas will go extremely low. I would suggest that you look into building a 6.5" or 8" koda into your door pods. It really isn't that hard to do, and will be worth it in the end. I don't have any adire equipment, but I have heard them - and they are nice. Finding a pair of RE XXX mids isn't that hard either - I know someone on another forum is trying to sell his for like 170+shipping (but from canadia, and with a broken but fixable basket). They are great speakers too.
