    Pioneer DEQ9200 Problem

I purchased a used Pioneer DEQ9200 DSP/EQ about six months ago. Unfortunately at that time I was unable to make use of it. I'm now installing my system into my new(ish) car and I have a problem. The EQ is giving my a semi High pitched tone over everything. Otherwise it appears to work fine. Has anyone else had this problem or have suggestions?

If I remove the EQ from the system and use my amps built in crossover I have no problems at all.

    Thanks.

Sounds like it could be feedback. Triple check all connections and make sure that the RCA's arent picking up interference from another source. Try troubleshooting by process of elimenation also. Try unhooking one RCA at a time to see if you can elimanate some or all of the noise and go from there. Doesnt this EQ have that sound feedback thingy with a mic? Could this feature or something be on. I dunno, its a long shot but worth trying.

That's what I'm afraid of josh is that the EQ is shot.

Osiris, If I simply remove power from the EQ leaving all other components as is the EQ seems to go to a passive straight through type of setup(am I making sense?). When I do that the tone goes away and everything seems to work as it should. Also the feedback mic is not attached. (wonder if it's looking for a signal from the mic?)

I was hoping that someone might know of a setting or something that would cause this. I'm going to keep playing with it and try Osiris' idea anyway.

    Thanks for the posts guys.

    Any updates? Having similar issue

Hi there, any updates on your DEQ-9200 problem? I'm getting high-pitched noise out of mine from the two front channel outputs only, tried every mix/match possible, different ground, different power run, etc. Did you have to junk it?

    Thanks,
