    Acoustic Dampening material

    ok need some advice i need to know if anyone can recommend any cheap Acoustic Dampening i am restoring a 79 f-100 and am hoping to block out as much engine noise as possible

    I have the "extreme" in my car... pretty good. Dunno how it stacks up though.

    May be able to find cheaper on ebay.

    And of course there's always dynamat, but you did say cheap...

    yeah i saw dynamat but that was the only brand i knew of so i fiogured i would ask here

    Go to www.mcmaster.com, item# 9709T19 is the same thing as Dynamat and a fraction of the price. You want the Polymeric Mastic.

    no kidding the price at mcmasters is good and i have ordered maching parts formt hem so i know they are good so i guess i will order from them is there any diffence in the stanless and the others

    You don't want the stainless, you want the polymetric mastic under "Adhesive-Back Damping Sheets" It is dynamat without the logo on it.

    i used 100 sq ft of b quiet. and it works pretty good. from what i heard its better then dynamat

    jsut for completeness there is spray on suff but i have heard it is not very good and can fall apart - in case you see it and are tempted!

    i saw the spray stuff but i am guessing the mat works better the other question i have is how do you seal the seams between sections
