Unhappy Radio installed and working [nearly]

Right, ive been looking for a radio solution for a while since ditching my HU.
Ive installed a DAB unit , this works very well , no complaints, BUT!
If i use it through the line in on my audigy it makes lots of noise, sounds like hard drive noise etc to me.
If however i wire it directly into my amp it is fine, no noise at all
I would rather it was running through my carpc tbh.
My pc is also noiseless without the radio connected, mp3s etc are fine.
The radio is powered off the 12v rail on my M1-ATX and is shared by my
Lilliput. It runs through a 12v to 6v converter as it only requires 6v.
The psu is wired directly to the battery, pos and neg, as is the amp.
I havent earthed the mobo in any way other than its connection to the psu
and wonder if that maybe why.
If i cant get rid of the noise, is there a way to get the two signals, ie the radio and the carpc to share the amp ?
Thnx in advance for any suggestions.

That's strange that you are only getting noise when connecting it to the Line-in on the Audigy. I have no suggestions on the noise thing but you should be able to share the amp connection with some kind of Y cable. I'm guessing it is a 1/8th connector, I know i've seen 1/8th to RCA cables

Yeah, i cant understand it either.
The radio has rca,s out, im using an adaptor to connect it to the audigy.
So i guess i will need an rca type Y lead , last resort though.
hmm, spose i better check the adapter connecting to the pc, it may be the problem !

if the radio has rca it is even easier...all you would need is 2 rca Y splitters 1male/2female, then connect the 2 left channels on one Y and the 2 right channels on the other Y, then connect to the amp accordingly. that is how I have my front and rear channels going into my 2 channel amp

Congrats!!! I'm glad it was just a dodgy lead. Those are the best ones, easy to solve and inexpensive!!!!!

    Cheers!

Bah, after using the radio for a few days, i fired up frodo and realised ive lost half the volume on my soundcard, its only my radio thats loud and clear. so im back to the beginning. Discon the radio and Frodo is loud again.
So , if i connect radio to line in on pc its no good terrible noise, if i use Y leads to combine radio\pc audio signals , no noise but lost volume from soundcard and a little loss from radio.
Im thinking i that radio,s output cant mix with the soundcard using a normal rca combiner, even though they are both lineout levels . But im sure the radio signal is more powerful, higher voltage i spose.
I can get an A\V switch, but id like to hear destinator with the radio on, so is it possible to combine the two sources with a simple lead or mixer?
    advice appreciated ,
