    Amp remote on without HU

Did a tiny bit of ing and couldnt find what I needed to know...

How would I get my amp to turn on and off as the HU used to when I turn the car on/off...

Where would I now connect my remote on wire?

With the 12V+ of your ignition...I think the blue wire....Just check it with a multimeter....turn your key on and off, and if its 12V+ and 0V then its the correct wire!

tap into a fuse in the fuse box. look for the one labeled radio acc...thats what i used and its fine. as long as it turns on and off with the ignition of the car you should be fine.

For convenience, use a switch between the wire where the radio B+ was connected to and the remote of your amp.

I second this advice. I use a switch and it has been priceless.

Some head units have a remote wire out, so check if your does. It it doesn't I'm pretty sure you can plug it up to the electric aerial 12v output. The advantage to this is if you turn the head unit off the amp will tirn off aswell and you won't get a hum.

If the timing of your amplifier turn on is important, you might look at getting a dssc. It ties into your ignition and can turn on your amps, your carputer, your usb hubs or whatever else.

It's $49 bucks though, but it comes with an automotive relay and all the wires, connectors, etc.

Hell, you could spend more than $49 bucks on wires, relays and solder/soldering iron from Radio Shack trying to build your own circuit.
    Check out my carputers:
DVD, GPS, MP3, 6.4" LCD Touchscreen, 5" Headrest LCDs, PSone, DSSC, etc.
