and your point?
I am running a very similar set-up and am running a 5.1/6.1/7.1 card.....no problems here.....very simple to install and work with
you just have to tell it what kind of speaker set-up you have.....just because it's 5.1 doesn't mean that it's ALWAYS got to put out 5.1 sound.....there are options for you to select from....
unless I'm missing something entirely...
one question for you though...
you are going to be running all of this high end audio equipment but you aren't going to boost your signal voltage out of the sound card AT ALL?
an onboard sound only puts out something like a half a volt, if you're lucky you can find a add on card that puts out only 2v.....IMO that's still a little low for good quality.....but maybe that's just me![]()

Lol, I only hit on this idea like ten mins ago.
I reckon I'll probably get a 5.1, and just get it to broadcast 2.1, and add a line driver.

I have a sealed 12 Adire Brahma. It is very much ike the RE XXX. In fact, they look identical. Their specs are similar and people who have heard both say they are the same. The XXX is prettier due to more chrome. Definitely load one sealed 12 with plenty of power. Your Rover will be a nice space for that. Mine is relegated to the trunk and The speaker is capable of more than my Soundstream 880 watt can handle. Like I said, plenty of power. The excursion of that 12 essentially doubles the 12 usual output but keeps it tight. and its nice not to lose the whole cargo space to massive sub enclosures. For music like Tool, you don't want sloppy 15's. Did I mention I love my Brahma? just checking
