Please help me pick out an amp

I had new speakers installed around a year ago, and I've been running them off my head unit. Now that I'm putting in an LCD, I don't have room in the dash for the head unit. I'm looking to get a 4 channel amp, but I have no idea what brand/type to get. The front speakers are 55W RMS, and rear are 60W RMS. Any recommendations on what to get? I'd like to keep it in the $200-$300 range, maybe a little less.

I'm also looking to get subs. I don't know anything about how loud however many watts is, or anything about the types of subs. How much would a decent set of 12" subs and an amp cost? I probably want to fiberglass the 2 subs on both sides of the trunk, since I don't want a box taking up the whole trunk. What would you recommend?

    Any suggestions are appreciated.

    Thank You

I chose to go with the Alpine V12 series. The model is MRV-F345. It is a 75X4 amplifier. I have not installed it yet, but heard it in a friend's vehicle and it handled the job well.

Hifonics are great amps! Combine one of them to a couple of Type R subs from Alpine and you'll have a great sound system.

    Isn't that right Quattro...?

Thanks for the replies. Any recomendations on a Hifonics model and subs to go with it?

I'm thinking about running a 4awg wire from the battery to a distribution block in the trunk, and split off to the 2 amps and pc from there. Would this work?

if you get a hifonics try to get one from an authorized dealer or a reputable company. Remember you are taking a huge risk by paying less on ebay. There have been many stories of people recieving dead amps from ebay sellers.

I've been very busy with work for the past few weeks, and I've finally got a chance to start working on this again. I was looking into getting this amp http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=38638
I don't mind paying $250 if it's a good amp. Do you think this is a good deal?

I have $400-$500 to spend on everything for the subs, including subs, box, and amp. I think I'll just go with a regular sealed box instead of fiberglassing 2 for each side. I know there's tons of different possbilities, but I'm trying to find out what I can get in the $400-$500 range.

    Thank You
