I have run many Pioneer head units at 2 ohm wihout problems. An amp would be better but the Pioneer will do the job.
My friend just ordered a Pioneer DEH-P6700MP headunit, which states it gives 20wx4 channels RMS, at 4 OHMS. He also ordered some kappa's that he just noticed are 2 ohm speakers. Is anybody familiar with Pioneers headunits, are they 2 ohm stable? He eventually plans to buy an amp, but doesn't have one yet.

Thanks man, that's what I wanted to hear. I know it's woefully underpowered for these speakers, but he doesn't want to pitch for an amp right now. I suppose if there's trouble, the fuse will blow lol. Thanks again!
