    x603

Hi. I bought an xtant x603. It has 2x75w rms + 1x150w rms at 4ohms, I want to know if I can possibly use two subwoofers on the rear channel, or it has to be only one? And if so, how?

I am thinking about using two jl audio 8wo's (75w rms each), otherwise i'll have to get a single 15wo which will fit the amp perfectly (150w rms), and say goodbye to trunk space (camaro). The two 8" subs might actually fit in the spare tire compartment.

15" is a waste of time and money. If you are going for Dbls, go for it. If you want low end accompanyment to your music, stick with 10s.

So its a 3 channel amp?

    75W
    75W
    150W

    all at 4 ohms.

You can bridge two 8ohm (dear god NOT 4ohm) subs into the 150

you can run each sub off one of the 75W channels each

Stick with JL, good buy, good sound, great reliability.

the front channels are reserved for focal 165k2's, the rear channel i want to use for the sub(s). so 15 is a waste of space, how about two 8w0s? any suggestions? I'm not dead set on jl audio, but from what i've heard it's a good company. Looks like two 8w0s will work perfect. I know theres a few people on here with this amp, give me some suggestions people. Thanks.

    Yes.

Do the 8w0s come in 8ohms?

So you are working only with the 1x150W right?

Well bridge 2 subs that are 8ohm, make sure they are NOT 4ohm JL makes both for almost all their subs except the DVCs, into the 150 should be fine. But if im not mistaken its still going to give you 150W per sub even when bridged, so you may need to find a 8W that can take 150W RMS.

    http://www.jlaudio.com/subwoofers/RP_Chart.html

Im not 100% sure on how bridging effects the watts seen by each speaker, but i think it stays the same...

    Which leaves you with:

    10W3
    12W3

seems 150W, you might have to go bigger or find another brand...

Oh ok. I see, they come in 4ohm or 8ohm configuration. So how do I bridge them? What do I need?

    Bridging is as follows:

Amp has one + and one -

Each sub has one + and one -

Wire the +/- from the amp to one sub.

Wire the +/- from the sub to the 2nd sub.

So now you got a connection from one channel into two speakers. You could also run the 2nd wire directly from the amp but the way described is standard...

Id do a google search on wiring diagrams before you quote me and I blow up your amp or something!

I just looked at that amp and it is 2 ohm stable (they claim 300x1) so 2 4 ohm subs would be prefered, wired in parrallel to get that 2 ohm load. Sdashiki's wiring is correct but always be sure. Just to verify though connect all three +'s together and all three -'s together. You have yourself a great system going together there.

Wait a sec, so if I use two 4ohm subs, each sub would have to be 150w rms? Thanks.
