If your plugging into a 1/8 stereo jack, a mono plug won't work. I'm assuming (fairly certain) the audigy has stereo jacks so you'd need stereo plugs.
They make them in that style for stereo.
Hey I was just looking at the FAQ emporium on how to hook up sound card. I have a quick question
I am hooking my sound card up similar to this:
but i am not using that y-adapter i will be using these:
But they are PHONO is that ok. It is a 1/8" Phone plug to Dual Phono Jack Y-Cable.
The y adapter from the first pic doesnt say if it is phono.
Should it be stereo?

Go to radio shack and get the 1/8th stereo to RCA's.
That's how my Audigy 2 NX is setup, but I warn you now...
If you hook it up like that, and put something through the line in on the soundcard or the optical input, it will probably only go to the front left and right speakers and not come out the sub, or rear channels.
The NX 2 does not upmix.
I am going to run the Dolby Digital some other way, using the optical out on the NX 2 only. That way I don't have to use those 1/8th to RCA converters, they are not good connections for a car IMO. You will need a DSP processor to do that though which costs like 3x's the NX 2 price.

Ok well I just wanted to ask another Question. I have two amplifiers.
1 amp is a 5 channel Memphis Belle that had 75 x 4 for my front/rear speakers and 1100w x 1 for my subs
my other amp is an ALPINE V12 just for my tweeters.
For my SB NX i am going to obviously hook up my subs to center/subwoofer.
But for my tweeter amp i am going to get a 1 male to 2 femal RCA splitter and and hook it up to my center/sub for the SB NX. DO you follow?
In the fist pic those 3 black 1/8" to RCA jacks im going to have one of those plugged into the center/sub. So i only need one rca cable for my subwoofer channel. Now i only have one RCA input left. So i will take the 1 male to 2 female and connect my tweeter amp to there.
My question is, will this effect anything on my tweeters/subwoofers? Is this totally fine to do?

Yes you can power the tweeter channel off the center channel 1/8th jack.
But do you have a crossover going to it, to prevent bass from going into the tweeter?
Also, isn't a amp for just tweeters a little too much? I mean my system has 4 tweeters hooked up to my regular speakers using crossovers and I have plenty of treble.
Also if you use 5.1 on the SB NX 2 you won't have upmixing on the line in. Meaning, only sound will come out the left and right front speaker. It will have full range sound but if it comes out of only the front two speakers it sounds like doodie.
Two options:
Get a DSP Processor. - I have a cheap one for sale for $50 shipped.
or
Get sound devices like the Griffin Radio Shark or Direct XM that use the USB audio in. Meaning it routes audio into your PC via USB and not line in or optical. It is still a digital signal I think. You can get a mod to add USB audio to the Direct XM.
I am going ot plug my Radio Shark into my CarPC later and see if it upmixes the radio using the NX 2. I'll repost and let you know if my theory was correct.

Where can i buy a DSP processor? What is a good brand that makes them? What do they do? IS it like an EQ?

it takes an optical/coaxial input and converts it to various analog channels
I just got a really expensive one from Hong Kong that I will be testing.Originally Posted by Cheekz185
