Question neo35 and toyota 05 (w/o tape deck)

hey guys, i have looked around on the forum and found that noone has posted any info about any solutions to my prob

i have a toyota corolla 05 that has no tape deck. i got my buddy to install my neo35 player in my new car (cuz i know nothing about installing) and the sound quality is horrible. i'm using a wireless mp3 adapter kit i bought from radio shack for $60 to send the signal to my radio (88.1, etc.). the sound quality is so LOW that i have to turn up my radio to full blast and hear static and low sound quality from my mp3s.

i have used my friends portable mp3 player to test my setup and his player sends the sound perfect, so i know its not my setup. my friend and i have discerned that my neo 35 player is not sending the sound properly (w/o a tape deck).

can anyone offer any suggestions? i looked on neo's page and they have a FM modulator. would that work??

**i have used this same neo 35 player in my tarrus 92 (that has a tape deck) and it work perfect!! i know my problem is bc i dont have a tape deck in my corolla 05; i just dont know what my options are!

An FM modulator is going to sound just as crappy as your FM transmitter. I would suggest looking around on the Internet for auxilary input adapter for your factory radio. Blitzsafe and PIE are a couple names to help you get started. It will have stereo RCA inputs so you can hook it up to your MP3 player with another adapter cable. Before I got a new headunit I used a PIE type adapter for my Honda's tape deck. It looked similar to this. Basically it tricks your headunit into thinking that whatever you're plugging into the RCA jacks is a CD changer. Good luck.

thank you Maukio for your suggestion. i have pulled out my car manuel, but it says nothing about which model stereo i have--what i have is factory, nothing special. lol. i am going to look around online for some auxilory input adapters for my corolla. hope they arent too expensive. thanks again mate.

ok, so after searching this is what i've found:

    http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=548

    http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=705

    http://www.logjamelectronics.com/pietoy03aux.html

since i dont know a whole lot about it, i am unsure if these will work. i have a toyota corolla 05 with factory cd player (not 6 disc) w/no tape deck!!

it looks like i'll be spending $70 or so, which is what i paid for the wireless radio transmitter from radio shack

Yeah, that TOY03-AUX model looks like the one you want. I was reading the crap on the first link. It said 03 was the transition year from the bigger 12-pin connection to the newer mini 12-pin and that you should be careful about having the wrong plug, but since you have a 05 I'm sure wouldn't have the old one. I would look for the TOY03-AUX adapter on e-bay. If you can't find it there than I guess you'll have to shell out the $70 on that website. I'd try and sell that FM transmitter on e-bay too. I made the mistake of buying a $50 FM modulator when I first setup my car PC. I don't know what possesed me but I didn't check e-bay first and I bought it locally, and the quality sucked! So I feel your pain brotha, but you'll be much happier in the end.
