    Audio Problem

I am sorry if this is going to be a long and boring post but this is seriously boggling my mind! Ok well for everyone to get a visual i am going to start off with:

Before anyone that has a car pc and has just a plain old system with amps/subs and whatever You have the RCA patch cables coming out of the amplifier and going to your Head Unit. Oh and by the way my amp is a Memphis Belle ST-1300d which is a 5-channel amp. 4x75 FRONT AND REAR and 1x1100 Sub.

SO now i just basically switched over my HU For a sound card for my pc because i am finishing the install of my carputer. I have the new rca cables for the sound card that goes to the amp. SO i started to hook them up to the amp one by one. But I did not take out the original rca cables that go to the original HU until i got to them. I took them out as I went along installing the new ones.

So I started with the FRONT RCA Cables, so I disconnected them while still having the Rear and SUB connected to the original rca cables. Next i put the New Rca cables on and with the other end i connected it to my sound card. AND I GET NOTHING. BUT The weird thing is I get a very low sound coming out of my REAR speakers. But I am wondering how sound is coming out of the rear if the rear rca on the amp still have the old patch cables on them.

Now if i disconnect the FRONT RCA from the AMP the sound goes away and same if i disconnect the old rear cables from the amp.

Now If i connect the new patch cables to the rear of the amp and to the sound card, its normal, sound comes out perfect. But with the front I dont get anything except for the really low sound coming out of the REAR SPEAKERS.

I have been taking my time with this install. SO i do a little bit everyday. But yesterday I just wanted to see if the sound card worked and I jsut connected the front and rear to the amp and i had perfect sound. But it took me a while to get the sound at first becasue i had to go into control panel and switch everything from onboard to SB. But everything worked great until today.

ANd if you guys are thinking that my amp front channel went bad or speakers arent working well i hooked up my radio back and all speakers were working great. I dont know what it is. Maybe its a setting in the software???

Much would be appreciated if you guys can help....

I tried like a million different audio cables. If i use the same cable to plug in the amps rear rca my rears work fine but if i plug them into the front nothing. But when everything is connected to my HU everything works flawlessly.
    It cant be the amp....

Might be a ground issue. I cant hear any sound on my system unless the video cable is plugged in. I think my audio out from the computer is not grounded correctly. And my video cable is connected directly to ground. Or my stereo to RCA cable isn't grounding correctly.

I get a buzz when the video is unplugged. So for me i leave the video plugged in

How would i ground the audio? How is your video cable connected to a ground?

My video ground is the same ground as my power ground on my LCD screen. Its built into one cable. Audio ground should be the same as common ground in your car, at least comming from the computer.

Okay i read your original post a couple times more and your losing me somewhat. You get audio from the carputer if you connect to the rear connection on your amp? but not the front connection. i mean rear input and front input on amp?

Do you have more then one set of outputs from the computer or just one set of left and right?

I only get sound if i connect my new patch cables to the REAR of the amp and the other end can go in my SB Audigy2nx either front or rear. But if i try and connect the the Front of my amp i get nothing.

Hmm, maybe a bad ground inside the amp. That would explain why you could hear all the speakers with your HU plugged in. All channels from your HU would have the same ground. and your amp would get ground from the rear connection. You should check the ground on your front connection on your amp. just get a meter and check the ohm's from the rca and the amp chassis. and when i say rca i mean te outer shell of the rca not the inside hole.

p.s. it should be 0 ohms, or real close to that.
