radio removal - 2005 ford focus

ive searched up and down for directions on how to remove the stock stereo from a 2005 ford focus (zx3). this stereo does not have the 4 little holes that the old stereo had so i cant use a ford din removal tool.

I see no holes whatsoever... Im not a car guy so takin apart the dash would NOT be cool.

i hope this isnt a dumb question, i try my hardest not to be too much of a n00b.

i took the HU out of a buddies explorer..i dont know what the focus is like but there was no holes for the removal tool...so it might be similar. you will most likely have to take the dash apart...thats what i did and it came out with easy after that...good luck.

thats excellent. i really appreciate your help. now i just have to figure out how to remove the face plate. i assume it just pops off.

pretty much, but they are a PITA to remove cleanly. There isnt much of a place to pry, but you need to find a corner and tug lightly....then work it all the way around. Take your time!

If you are installing a boost guage or similar, I like to install a tee at the red 90 degree tube at the front of the throttle body. pull the red line from the rubber, and install one end of the tee....connect the other end of the tee to the rest of the red line (cut it down) with rubber hose, and connect the remaining end of the tee to your guage or whatever.

thanks.. i'll take a look under the hood and see if i can find that.. i'm not installing a gauge, i was just curious as to where the line is located..
