It can work, but I don't know the if whatever head unit you are talking about would support over the standard sizes of flash drives.

bcz in theory its possible its use in the space of
mp3-player or HD

if it can read a flash drive then you would need a hdd-usb adapter that uses a generic usb controler so that the HU could pick it up

audiobahns new line of receivers have a USB interface on the front face allowing them to read Mp3's from a usb drive and even record radio to USB
