So a friend of my has a 99 VW Passat and she gets this really bad static noise when listening to the radio. It doesnt happen when she plays cds. Its on all am/fm stations. But it only happens when the weather is cloudy or rainy. Is there anyway to fix this? I am guessing its the antenna....

did you use an amplified antenna adapter? also did you hook up the blue or blue/white wire from the harness. If so disconnect those wires because the amplified antenna turn on is through the antenna ( try part # 40-vw53 metra brand, standard antenna adapter is 40-vw10 )
