Not to threadjack, but did you remove your spare tire to make room for the the two subs? Seems like a good way to save space (if you're confident in your tires )

I saw a merc with the (one) sub in the wheel well, and the wheel "over it" so that the sub was seen through the spokes... looked nice, but the wheel was much "higher" than the standard... I guess cause the wheel well has a peak for the wheel spoke-area (middle area)

I didn't have to remove it for the subs, but I did remove it to put a third amp there for my door speakers.

The sub had some sort of cover over it right?

no, the "spokes" of the wheel were like a cover for it....

    Code:
    (---/---\---)
    (---|SUB|--)
this is somewhat what it would be like, in a cut-out view...

I still think exposing your sub to the outside environment is absolutely retarded.

Haha, I thought you meant you could see it from the outside of the car... Like the sub was facing outside of the wheel well. I wouldn't have thought that was what you meant unless I've actually seen an install where a guy cut two holes in the floor of his truck. He had both subs firing downward towards the ground, exposing his subs to all the elements.

hehehe, no, this is a bit of a description:

    Open the trunk, look down.

See the spare wheel, flush with the "floor" of the trunk around the wheel. Look at center of wheel (where the wheel cap is), and you can see that under the wheel there is a sub facing the trunk-lid.

remove wheel up, sub is exposed, with a "embossed" edge around it, the size of the rubber of the tyre, so the tyre fits "around" the sub...
