For my car I want to put in a big sound system, and Ive noticed that amps subwoofers etc. by Sony Xplod, are far cheaper than others. Are they bad quality, or just cheap? I like the look of Audiobahn amps and subwoofers, and they seem good quality, but their stuff is expensive. Are they worth the extra money?
One more thing. I saw some Audiobahn Immortal subwoofers advertised in Import Racer magazine for $550 (10"), and then I saw the same ones for $80 at onlinecarstereo.com. Whats with this?

and i duno why they say it timed out on me and i pressed refresh after the upgrade.... dosnt happen to me :-)
I hope this won't become a triple post...
they are both decent if you arent competing. They arent considered worthy by most people though who spend the time comparing actual specs. and performance. If low on cash then sure get them and if it sounds good to you thats all that matters.
But also look into some other amps like JL audio, audison, zapco...these are however high dollar.
I'd get the Audiobahn between the two...
Haha, "they (audiobahn) seem good quality."
Sony Xploids and Audiobahn are BOTH at the bottom of the barrell. They both make cheap crappy subs and amps. Sanbas doesn't know what he's talking about if he thinks those are 'decent'.
What is your price range and what kind of setup are you looking for? SPL, SQL, strictly SQ? Also, what kind of space do you have to work with?
My budget is about $1700 for the whole system, but really $1400, cause Im getting a $300 panasonic headunit. Id like 2 12" subs and 4 speakers, and however many amps needed to make it very loud (one 4 channel, and 2 monos maybe)
what does sql, sq, and spl mean?
are you going to get a carpc or not? if so, why the panasonic HU??? 300 for a headunit is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much imho... you can get 2 lilli VGAs and forget about the crappy iCONs.... if you rent putting a carpc, then whatever, just use the adivec you can from here, but it might be some useless stuff, since miost ppl here are focused on carpc and their versatility

Any ideas for putting a PC in this? :)
I guess your right. The only reason I was going to get a new head unit was because it looked nicer than the old one, had mp3/wma, and would be fairly straight forward in setting upan audio system. Do most car pcs let you listen to music without logging in or booting up or what ever? I might just get a pretty cheap head unit for the display, but use a pc for listening to music. Is the SoundBlaster Audigy card worth the money?, cause I dont want to buy it if I dont need it.
