ok - I did a little bit of looking for info on the listed amplifiers and this is what I've come up with:

    1. Hifonics Zeus ZX 5.1
This amplifier appears to be discontinued. It can probably be found used.

    2. Phoenix Gold Octane-R R5.1MT
This amplifier appears to be discontinued. It can probably be found used.
Here is a link to the manual for this piece: http://www.n-core.se/products/PG/Oct...1MT_manual.pdf

    Specs are as follows:
    Front and Center Channels:
    100 watts x 5 @ 4 ohm stereo @ 14.4v (max power)
    50 watts x 5 @ 4 ohm stereo @ 14.4v (RMS power)
    18 watts x 5 @ 4 ohm stereo @ 12.5v

    Subwoofer Channel
    200 watts x 1 @ 4 ohm @ 14.4v (max power)
    100 watts x 1 @ 4 ohm @ 14.4v (RMS power)
    36 watts x 1 @ 4 ohm @ 12.5v

This amplifier is only stable at 4 ohms. This amplifier will not work for situations where the system calls for a lower ohm load.

I just got off the phone with Alpine Technical Support, and they told me that you have to have an Alpine-branded DSP for both the MRA-F350 AND the MRA-D550. Looking at the manual for the MRA-D550, it says:

    "Important
This unit cannot be turned on or operated unless the
    Ai-NET compatible head unit (IVA-D300, IVA-D901 or
    IVA-D900, etc.) is connected."

So, is there any way to mimic having a Ai-NET head unit via the PC?

So, which one does it need?....an alpine DSP or an alpine head unit (with ai-net). I'm guessing that it just needs the head unit.

OK. Just wanted to make sure.

So, do you know of any way to get these amps to work with a carputer? I don't want to run a seperate DSP if I don't need to.

    Pure Digital Amp

If you want a pure digital amp, this is it.

    http://tbk.co.kr/eng/products_soluti...um=2&idorder=1

No DAC. Strictly digital all the way through.

    Muritzy makes it.

I've seen that amp before...looks like a sweet amp. I wonder if it needs a controller or compatible head unit like the alpine.
