Help w/'02 stock Nissan Sentra head unit

I had a in dash 6 cd changer (part of the Rockford Audio Package) which I removed to make way for an Omnifi; the installation was successful... sort of.

The problem I have is that I'm using the 8 pin din connector form the back of the head unit to feed signal from the DMP1. I figured out the pin out layout and got the left/right signal done.

This is the diagram I'm working with

Pin # 1 (one) is the problem... What signal should I send to this pin so that the Head unit registers that there is something (cd changer, etc.) connected there allowing AUX to be selected? The omnify doesn't have a remote wire.

Please do not recomend an FM Modulator, a new/different head unit, etc.

    Thanks -RD-

    Hi,
In order for this to work, you will need to send 12volts to this pin(postive trigger) or ground that pin out (neg trigger) I would try grounding it out first and see what happends.

is says its an output.. so im guessing grounding it would work.

I'm sorry guys, I'm kinda frustrated about this that I even pointed out the wrong pin....

The pin I need to feed is pin # 1 NOT pin #2

    Do you have a multimeter?

Test the voltage on that pin with the deck pluged in to the factory harness.

use one probe for the pin and the other to ground...its should read around 12volts. if so..this is a negitive trigger and grounding it pout should do the trick.

Thank you for the response, there is no measurable voltage coming from that pin as this is a "signal in"

I was able to feed it 12v from the same source that is providing the ACC 12v to the OMNIFI, however, once I do that, the head unit only works in AUX (in) mode. I won't return to radio nor CD.... I have to interrupt the ACC 12v for the head unit to return.

So if i connect a "normally open" relay there it should do something.... right?

    Any thoughts?

N/p, you will need 2 relays...I'll post a diagram in a few mins.

    Here's a diagram to download.

The relay on the Omni fi ground wire grounds out when the omni fi is switched on, this causes the other relay to send 12 volds to the aux trigger on the sentra head unit...The head unit is now controlled by the omni fi, so turning the omni fi off will allow you to use your radio/cd..

I would recommend this set up for a ground over 10A..but the Omni Fi is 7.5A so it shouln't be a problem.

    Questions, let me know.

btw, relay harnesses will help as I labled the wire coloring.
