you should ideally use that 100 amp w/ holder at the battery connection under the hood... close to the battery connection.... then add a fuseblock in the rear with a 50a fuse for the amp.....

the maximum draw that the amp should see is the rated 50amps... if it's drawing 60 amps there is a problem & power should be disconnected until the problem is corrected likewise at 70 & 80 etc....

if theres a dead short or something then it will easily reach over 100amps & the fuse will blow anyway......

in the unlikely event that soimwthing goes wrong & causes a draw of 60 or 70 amps for example... a 50 amp fuse WILL PROTECT the amp bydisconecting power(blowing) where a 100 will still keep power there... possibally causing damage......

bottom line: it'll work fine, but offer less protection

no fuse required at the amp if the main fuse is correct...... keeping the 100 up front & using a distribution block in the rear for the 50 for the amp will also leave you room to add to the system later & power other things with this feed.... assuming it's capable of 100 amps as the fuse is indicating....

if nothing else will go on this circuit.... the 50 up front would be fine all by itself...

okay i see what you mean that sounds very reasonable i will just buy a 50a fuse im pretty sure the fuse block takes a 50a fuse it just comes with a 100a fuse but if it doesnt ill just buy a 50a fuse and fuse holder no big deal but i will definetely save the 100a fuse and fuse holder because i plan on upgrading later on

curently im hooking up 1 alpine swx typex subwoofer (rms) 1000 (peak)3000
that will be ran to a jl audio 500/1 amplifier the head unit is alpine cda 9851
and its all bieng connected with kicker wires
