Griffin Powermate is what you seek.
Old Systems retired due to new car
New system at design/prototype stage on BeagleBoard.

The Powermate is an excellent choice as you can do a lot more with it than just volume control. 2 things though. It's somewhat expensive. It's big so you may not be able to stick it next to your monitor.

Beside that, you have 2 more options.

    1. Hack a mouse wheel button (not an optical one). Search this forum for that. There's several threads on this.

    2. Buy a cheapass USB keyboard that has a volume knob then hack it.

    Thanks 0I33I

This is just what I was looking for. Now the idea is not only to control the volume whit one button, but also to control the fader (front and reare sound)whit a second one.

Don't know if this last will be possible but it's just an idea.
